At Sringeri Sharadamba temple, Aksharabhyasa (Alphabet Practice) holds significant importance. This practice is specifically designed for toddlers before they embark on their educational journey. During the ceremony, a priest recites verses while parents assist their little ones in tracing their first alphabet.

Although there are numerous temples at Sringeri, one of the architectural marvels at Sringeri is the Vidyashankara Temple, constructed by the Vijayanagara Empire rulers. This temple pays homage to Vidyatirtha, one of the pontiffs of the Sringeri temple. In the blazing heat, a frog desperately sought shelter, only to be surprised by a compassionate cobra that unfurled its hood, offering shade. Witnessing this extraordinary scene, the Acharya was deeply touched by the inherent sanctity of the place. He then decided to establish the Sringeri Temple and laid the foundation for its glorious legacy. Adi Shankara's presence is still felt strongly in Sringeri, drawing countless devotees who seek his blessings and guidance.

According to legend, Adi Shankaracharya brought a fish from Kerala and adorned it with a golden nose ring. Astonishingly, the fish remains alive even to this day.

In the Tunga River, numerous fish can be found, yet none are caught as they are believed to be the reincarnations of Goddess Sharadamadevi. Presently, many fish gather near the riverbank, specifically the steps, which are considered auspicious by devotees seeking their blessings.

Sringeri comes alive during its vibrant festivals. One of the most significant celebrations is the Sharada Navaratri, dedicated to the goddess Sharada, the presiding deity of the Sringeri Temple. During this nine-day extravaganza, devotees immerse themselves in prayer, devotional music, and cultural performances. The festival culminates with the grand Vijaya Dashami procession, marking the victory of good over evil.

In accordance with the traditions of Sri Math, Sri Jagadguru Mahaswaminah wears a crown and ornaments as they enter the Darbar at Sharada Temple. This ceremonial procession takes place through Chandramoulishwara Hall. Following this, the idol of Sharadamba, usually kept at Vyakhyana Simhasana, is brought into a resplendent golden chariot.

The Rathotsava, or chariot procession, is conducted three times within the temple corridor, accompanied by Veda Ghosha (chanting of Vedic hymns), Vadya Ghosha (instrumental music), and the presence of Chatra-Chamara (royal umbrella and fan). The Acharya, facing the Divine Mother, leads the procession.

The weather in Sringeri is characterized by a pleasant and moderate climate throughout the year.
